The Bullington Board

Bullington Gardens Welcomes Back Public School Programs

We’re thrilled to have our public-school programs back in full swing at Bullington Gardens! This year, we’re working with students from all four Henderson County high schools, including participants in the Exceptional Children’s (EC) Program and the Occupational Course of Study (OCS) Program. Each week, we welcome around 35 students who engage with the gardens through hands-on learning and meaningful work.

Whew, what a spring!

With the gardens hosting over 500 students for field trips in April alone, the education volunteers have been busy, busy leading K-5 field trips. I am ever grateful for the education volunteers that taught and led field trips, leading to a successful spring season. After the plant sale, BOOST students finalized their garden designs, installed the plants in their garden beds, and presented them at their graduation ceremony.

A Note from Annie

Autumn is truly the season that teaches us that change can be beautiful. Many of the changes happening at Bullington are just that. Since July, our new Education Director, Tracy Calla has been jumping in with both feet. Into the Boost classes, into the Horticultural Therapy programs and getting a firsthand look at the aspects that make Bullington shine in so many eyes.
